Welcome to Riverside Quilting

"A professional
longarm machine
quilting service for quilters who enjoy
piecing quilt tops, but don't have the
time for hand quilting."

Hello and welcome to Riverside Quilting, a professional longarm machine quilting service located in Snohomish, Washington. My name is Bobby Hyland and I am the company's owner and quilter. At Riverside Quilting, I provide a longarm machine quilting service for quilters who enjoy piecing quilt tops, but don’t have the time for hand quilting.  A longarm quilting machine has the ability to create uniform designs and patterns and with it I will transform your quilt top into a finished treasure.

My quilting studio is in my home, which is a non-smoking, pet-free, clean and caring environment. Rest assured - your hard work is in the hands of a fellow quilter who appreciates the work involved with cutting and piecing a quilt top. Your investment will be treated as though it were my own.

There are many ways to personalize your quilt. The best way to ensure that the quilting reflects your vision is to contact me so that we can talk about your expectations and preferences. I can provide you with edge-to-edge patterns, meandering, and / or custom quilting. Together we will design a quilt that you will be proud to use, display, or give to someone special.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Helpful Hints

Your quilt is important to me. In order to guarantee the highest quality and satisfaction in the finished product, please consider the following as you prepare your quilt for quilting:

  1. Make sure your seams are well pressed. Top and back should be flat and well pressed. (Press seams open on the back fabric if you have to piece a back.)
  2. If the quilt has a top and bottom, please mark them as such.
  3. Make sure your backing is at least 4"-6" bigger on all sides. If you are providing the batting, it should also be at least 4" bigger on all sides than the quilt top.
  4. When choosing a back fabric, keep in mind the thread color that you are going to want for the top. Light colored thread on a dark back or dark colored thread on a light back will create a major contrast.
  5. Ripples in the borders will not "quilt out" so be sure you measure them carefully. Take your measurement from the center of the quilt, not the outer edge.
  6. Please do not bring sheets for back fabric. It causes too many thread breaks.

Note: The denser the quilting design the more your quilt will "shrink" during the quilting process.
